This 1950 offset lithograph advertising American Airlines’ service to Sweden features the Stockholm city hall (stadshuset), one of the city’s major tourist attractions. Its distinctive tower is topped by three crowns, a national emblem of Sweden.
Edward McKnight Kauffer (1890-1954), who designed this poster for American Airlines, was an American artist and graphic designer. He worked mainly in poster art but also was a painter, book illustrator and theater set designer.
