This magnificent French lithograph probably from the early 1900s is an advertisement for Au Char de Ceres brand pasta (Pates Alimentaires). The sturdy cook/baker is shown here making the pasta – clearly she takes her job seriously.
The bottom of the poster reminds customers to make sure the brand name of the pasta is on all the boxes they buy.
The upper right corner of the poster has the name “jimmy” written in the plate, which most likely is the name of the artist who designed the poster.
This great poster is what a great kitchen needs to make its biggest wall interesting and fun. Its size, colors and content (it’s all about the pasta!!) will definitely make huge statement wherever it is placed.
