This original color lithograph by Joan Miro was an exhibition poster for a 1973 show at Galerie Maeght in Paris. Titled Sobreteixims (which, translated from Catalan, means On Fabric or About Textiles), it was printed by "Arte Paris" (Arte Adrien Maeght Paris) on wove paper. Galerie Maeght, a prominent art gallery in Paris, worked with Miro on many exhibitions of his art.
With its bold colors, signature lines and shapes and abstract images, this lithograph illustrates Miro's unique and complex style.
Barcelona-born, Miro (1893-1983) was an influential twentieth-century painter, sculptor, ceramicist and print maker. At the forefront of Spanish modern art throughout most of his career, he was a leader in the Surrealism movement and, later, Abstract Expressionism. His numerous works can be seen in museums throughout the world.
Add some color and noise to your room with this wonderful Miro lithograph.
