MANNTJE THALER SWISS THEATER POSTER

Printed on silver metallic card stock with navy lettering, this rare poster is an advertisement for a show at Rote Fabrik, a performance venue in Zurich, titled Manntje Manntje Timpe Te.  This title is derived from a German fairy tale about a fisherman and his wife.

The poster is clear about the unique nature of this performance, as it states in English, “NOT A DANCE AND NOT A PLAY.”  Rather, it is promoted as a meeting of dance and talk that draws on the talents of both dancers and speakers, as coordinated by the choreographer Tina Mantel and the director Alice Thaler.
