How best to sell accordions? Make them sexy! And this is exactly what this 1949 advertisement for Galanti Accordions does.
Under moonlight and stars, a beautiful woman wearing a silver loungewear ensemble reclines seductively on the edge of an accordion, head thrown back, feet dangling. She’s being serenaded and is clearly enjoying the experience. The caption at the top of the poster says "unei secoli eterne melodie," which translated from the Italian means, “centuries of eternal melodies.” The poster's lovely colors and script (especially the letter “G” of Galanti which wraps around the woman) add an element of elegance to this poster as well, making it quite beautiful as well as seductive.
Galanti Accordions were built in Italy and exported to the US. This particular accordion model, as shown on the poster, is called the "Super Dominator," which name dispels any lingering doubts as to its effectiveness in attracting the ladies.
This extremely rare vintage poster would be a great addition to every music room.
