Poor Mr. Bottleneck! He looks so unhappy – probably because he is being blamed for his company’s failure to meet its production quotas.
This World War II poster was printed by RCA Manufacturing, a maker of electronic equipment for the armed services during the war. It tells its employees, "Don't Be a Bottleneck" and exhorts them to “Beat the Promise” which means they should work hard to exceed the company’s production quotas as part of their war effort.
This poster presents a fascinating bit of WWII history. If you collect WWII posters, this one would be a great addition.
