This wonderful vintage lithograph advertises a performance by The Great V. Gramby, “Master of Mystery with his Musical Variety Company.” Vassily Gramby, the great man himself, is pictured wearing a turban and staring out from the poster trying to look profound and significant and intriguing. Behind him in the upper left corner of the poster is a miniature head (resembling the Great V. Gramby but with a beard), from which lightning bolts are shooting. In the upper right corner of the poster is an eye also shooting lightning bolts. Clearly the magical mystery show by The Great V. Gramby will be anything but ordinary and should not be missed.
Printed with a red background and shades of off-white for the great man’s head(s) and the banner at the bottom, this antique French lithograph is a great testament to the bygone era of great magicians whose shows drew crowds and captivated audiences.
It will be a charming addition to every vintage poster collection.
