RAFFAELLO 1483-1983 POSTER

This charming 1983 poster commemorating the five-hundredth anniversary of the birth of the revered Italian artist and architect Raffaello was published by the Italian National Agency for Tourism.

Pictured on the top half of this poster is Raffaello's famous fresco at the Vatican, The School of Athens.  On the bottom left of this poster is an enlarged corner of this masterpiece in which Raffaello included his self-portrait; he's the young man looking out toward the viewer.
