Grey Fireworks is the name of the 1982 abstract expressionist painting by artist Helen Frankenthaler that is reproduced in this silk screen lithograph published in 2000 by the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts as part of its List Poster and Print Program. Printed on archival matte paper, it is plate-signed by the artist and unnumbered.
Helen Frankenthaler (1928-2011) was a prominent American abstract expressionist painter in New York City in the years following World War II. In addition to producing works of abstract expressionism, she developed the technique that became known as color field painting. Grey Fireworks is a beautiful example of that technique.
This distinctive poster with its lovely abstract design in muted tones of grey and lavender will add gravitas and style to any room where it is placed.
