Jasper Johns (b. 1930) is an American painter, sculptor and printmaker whose work is associated with abstract expressionism and pop art. Widely celebrated as one of the most influential American artists of the postwar era, he is particularly well known for his paintings and prints of the American flag. He is also one of the best-selling contemporary artists of all time, as his art appeals both to art connoisseurs and to the general public.
