Prominent artist Christo and his partner Jeanne-Claude collaborated on large-scale art installations occupying public spaces, both urban and rural. These projects, varied and frequently massive in scope, included constructing their Running Fence in Northern California (1976) and installing The Gates in New York City’s Central Park (2005).
Another of their ambitious projects was the wrapping of the Reichstag in Berlin which was completed in 1995 after many years of planning. This unique lithograph documents this work. It is signed by Christo on the bottom right side.
Through their large-scale outdoor projects, Christo Javacheff (1935-2020), who was known simply as “Christo,” and his wife Jeanne-Claude de Guillebon (1935-2009) attained fame throughout the world.
