This rare, original Czechoslovakian poster advertises a design exhibition exploring Cesky Funkcionalismus (Czech Functionalism) from 1920-1940, with the focus on architecture, home design/furnishings and graphics. The exhibition took place at the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague in 1978.
The poster design was adapted from the cover of a 1978 book (Cesky Funkcionalismus 1920-1940) by Czech architect Bohuslav Fuchs who was prominent in the modernist architecture movement between WWI and WWII.
If twentieth century architectural styles interest you, then you’ll find this poster and the history lesson it offers quite interesting.
