AMARO VALSESIA POSTER

This nostalgic poster from the 1920s-1930s advertises Amaro Valsesia liqueur, an Italian bitter (“Amaro”) alcohol drink produced in the mountainous region of northeastern Italy.

The focus of the poster is a very appealing maiden standing in the foreground, dressed in traditional garb and holding the bottle up, beckoning us to try it.  Framed in a luminous oval outlined by a red border, she is standing in front of a wooden structure, most likely a trattoria, that is flying the Italian flag. The yellow letters “Amaro Valsesia” are in bright contrast to the green grass and the red accents of her dress.
